HEIMSKRINGLA HEIMSKRINGLA is the largest collection of Old Norse and Nordic source texts on the internet – currently some 8800 titles. HEIMSKRINGLA primarily consists of Eddic texts, sagas, and skaldic poetry, as well as background material and sources on Sami, Finnish, and Greenlandic culture. HEIMSKRINGLA is based on the belief that these texts – as part of our shared cultural heritage – should be freely accessible to everyone.		SHOP
WE PRESENT: digitalized Trojanernes saga New Danish translation by Jesper Lauridsen, 2026 Trojanernes saga (Trójumanna saga) is the medieval Nordic retelling of the account of the Trojan War. Drawing on Latin sources, the saga depicts the course of the war, the heroes of Troy, and the city’s final downfall in a sober, saga-like style. Here, classical antiquity emerges as history, conveyed to an Icelandic audience. The saga bears witness to the Middle Ages’ fascination with the ancient world and its stories.
